LG TV stuck on one channel

by Tombarina / May 28, 2011 12:48 PM PDT

LG plasma is suddenly stuck on one, awful analog channel. Cannot budge it via either the remote, or by physically pressing the channel-change buttons on the TV.
Remote appears to be working fine - does everything except change channels. Have full access to all the menus, and child lock is not on.
Is it possible to have accidentally locked the TV onto this one, woeful channel via the remote?
Have gone through the manual, tried turning the TV off at the wall for up to 20mins, etc.
Remote is the original unit which came with the TV, and isn't used to drive any other devices (eg DVD player), there's no set-top box or home theatre system hooked up to it, etc.
TV model is LGPG60UD.
Pls help - the sanity of three people rests on the collective wisdom of the CNet community!!!!

Fixed it!!!!
by Tombarina / May 28, 2011 2:31 PM PDT

In desperation, and with clock ticking down to the must-see Reds v Crusaders game, I gambled on running the 'factory reset' function, then reinstalling all the channels.

Result: success!

Might be a useful tip for anyone else who finds themself with this problem.

That's great. I just found your post today; I had the same issue this morning for the first time. I unplugged the TV, plugged it back in after a while and reset all the channels. So far, things are working fine. I have an LG 37LG30 LCD TV which is about 7-1/2 years old. Seems too soon for something to go really wrong! Hopefully, this will fix it; it has been a great TV so far.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
