Question

LG Smart Tv/Logitech Z506

May 28, 2016 4:42AM PDT

I am trying to setup an LG Smart Tv that has digital audio optical output with my Logitech Z506 speakers which do have the corresponding port. I own a J-Tech Digital ® 5.1 Channel Audio Decoder, a BlueRigger Digital Optical Audio Toslink Cable (6 feet), and a RCA audio cable. What do I do?

That will help us know what audio it is capable of outputting via toslink. Skip the Jtech for now.

A majority of HDTVs do not pass 5.1 if the input is HDMI so you see folk jury rig like you asked then get upset when there is no 5.1.

Recap. Today's systems work like this.
Source to Receiver. Receiver passes video to HDTV.
