LG Smart Share Support

Mar 3, 2013 9:52AM PST

Hi,

I have a LG 557600 Smart TV - it is a great TV - I love it! I mainly use the 'media link' feature which streams video from my PC which is running Plex media server.

However, there is the 'smart share' app on the TV as well. I can see all my computer listed here, but when I click on it I get an error that says 'unkown error' then it says no file.

Any ideas on this? I know that used to work in the past.

You need to enable streaming of library in WMP

In Windows Media Player 12 go to Library, find Stream menu and select 'Automatically allow devices to play my media'. Then you will be able to see your multimedia files on the TV.

Hi j_dobso2.
Hope you got to resolve the issue of getting an error message when attempting to use the smart share app on your TV. Just is case none of the other suggested fixes worked for you, you can also download the Nero MediaHome 4 software that is usually bundled with LG TVs that support DLNA[http://www.nero.com/eng/lg-nmh4-essentials.html].^IV
