LG Plasma Flat Panel 42PC3D - No picture just sound

Heard a sound while watching TV. The picture just died. Now the screen is black as if it is turned off but the sound remains.

We've had it 2 years and 3 months....warrenty lasted 2 years...go figure.

I found another website where TONS of people are saying the same things has happened to them...but no real solutions that I can find.

Any idea if this is fixable?

Lg 42" flat screen blackout

My flat screen that was a gift from my mother just blacked out in the middle of a movie, sad to see so many people with the same issue while the corporate company of lg sits back and laughs at us spending and pulling hair to get there bugs fixed. We need a class action suit to be filled or something. Any opinions on that and how to get it started...

Same TV brand and model. Started with red "ghosts" on the screen that started a couple of years after we got it. Tonight, as were settling back for the first day of the US Tennis Open coverage, the screen went black. Watching tennis is no good without a picture! All of you have convinced me that it would be cheaper and less hassle involved to go out and buy a new one -- but not an LG for sure.
