LG P925G Cellular Phone Charging Problem

I have an LG P925G cellular telephone. When I connect it to the charger and plug it in, it never exceeds about 5%.

The following did not resolve the problem:
- Using a new battery
- Using a computer USB port instead of the plug

I've had it for quite a while so it is not covered under the warranty. Can anyone suggest what to do?

I called LG customer support and they recommended I send it to them for repairs but I want solve this problem for free if possible.

Thanks in advance

I see this model unlocked for 45 bucks so repair is

Well, you can figure out why no one fixes them. Did you try an external battery charger? If you think the battery, USB cord and charger is good then the charging circuit in the phone is gone. I confirm this by using another battery charger (tip: sometimes that's another phone!)

I am not familiar with external battery chargers. If you can

I am not familiar with external battery chargers. If you can advise what that is and where to find it in physical stores (not online)?
