Question

LG New Buy - Purchase, Setup and General Help Needed

Dec 15, 2013 5:22PM PST

Hi all,

I am new here, so please bare with me if this is not OT or not the correct area to post.

I am looking, within the next couple of months, to purchase a new TV. After flicking through reviews I have come to the decision that LG is my preferred choice.

My main question, in this whole post, is which one should I be looking at.

I am kind fresh faced to Smart TV's, but I am of the knowing that Smart TV's basically have an app function that would connect to (in this case) the LG Store.

This being said, I would LOVE to get a TV that has a camera. For, quite obviously, the use of Skype. The use of Youtube and other apps is great, but I feel Skype is definitely the key thing for me.

Secondly, the TV having the ability to function with Google Chrome would be a bonus.

Thirdly, I am looking at a 42 Inch minimum and probably a 50 inch maximum. I like smooth polished looks, but if I can't get that with all of the other stuff thrown in, then it's not as much of a big deal.

In Summary;

42"-50"
HD Full
Smart with WiFi
Camera built in
Google Chrome 'Enabled'
Good audio built in

Thanks for your help!

https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95411 doesn't list LG TV's as a supported platform for Google Chrome. So you'll have to do with any browser-like software that is built-in or can be downloaded as an app.

For good audio from a TV a soundbar or a Home Cinema set is recommended. If sound is important for you and you don't want to use those, be sure to listen to the TV's on your shortlist in the shop before buying.

Ok,

Thanks for the answer. Good to know about Chrome, I will look at alternatives for that. Anyone know of good LG App Store App that can stream from a browser?

Either way, sadly there was no suggestion for an actual TV in this post. I understand that audio comes better with sound bars and home systems, but, for arguments sake I mean't the better quality with the speakers that actually come with the TV.

I know it ma be a lot to ask, but that is why I am here, I just need a list of suggested TV's that fit my criteria. I currently live in Germany too, if that helps.

Thanks!
