If you want to try it again, hook up with an optical link.
As to other bugs in the app, the app is from Netflix but you may have to pressure both LG and Netflix to fix it. I take it you already checked at LG.com for new firmware.
If LG and Netflix have no fix, you should return as not ready for the market. It's defective right out of the box.
For some reason the Netflix defaults to 5.1 English but I am only getting Stereo through the ARC HDMI connection.
If I change Netflix audio to English only I get 5.1. I am not sure why these are switched. Annoying that I have to change it ever episode to English to get 5.1.
LG UH8500 is the TV model.
