LG Monitor OSD Config. Screens Problems

Nov 21, 2009 1:17AM PST

Hello,

Have a new HP PC running Windows7, and just purchased a new LG Monitor for it. Model is W2053TQ.

This is a 20" unit, with the touch-sensitive buttons on the front.
Using a DIV-D cable for a digital PC to Monitor connection.

Picture is absolutely beautiful, but-

I can't bring up the OSD monitor configuration screens for the monitor no matter what I do.

When my finger goes near the front monitor bezel, the row of red LED lights (about 6) become lit. Pressing any of the "buttons" does nothing.
Have tried lightly touching with finger, leaving finger on for over 10 seconds or so, etc. Nothing brings up the screen, irrespective of whether the PC is On or Off.

Pressing the MENU button position and holding in case the OSD is locked, also does nothing.

Would sure appreciate any thoughts on this.

Hate to return it, as I believe it is probably something dumb that I am doing, or not doing.

The pix is super, and the monitor seems to talk with the PC just fine.

Much thanks,
Bob
