Question

LG LN5700 50"

Nov 5, 2013 9:02PM PST

I have the LN5700 50" Smart TV, it's suppose to be a 120hZ. However when I hit the info it says 1080i / 60hz. Can someone explain this to me, and is there a way to resolve it?

LG LN5700 Series Panel Rate
Nov 7, 2013 10:54PM PST

What is the panel rate for this series of TV??? I know the "TruMotion" rate is 120hz but that does not mean the panel refresh rate is 120hz; it may be 60hz. I'm looking at buying one and the price is attractive vs a Samsung UN40F6300 or a Vizio M401i-a2. The price may be attractive because the hardware is not truly 120hz. So I would like to know this before I buy.

Some see diff between 60hz and 120hz refresh rate
Nov 8, 2013 5:57AM PST

Thanks for the article posting. Evidently some see the difference and some don't. I may one of those who does see the difference. That article led me to another article which said BestBuy was giving the true refresh rate so I checked it out there and it says "refresh rate 120hz". The article goes on to say another of the other rating probably truly hide the real refresh rate. If it has a CMR of 120hz, probably the true refresh rating is less (probably 60hz).

Answer
That's proper.

The input rate is displayed and never the panel rate. It's a shame makers and sellers won't discuss this area.
