I have an LG G3 and at this time, over three months ago at the beginning of September, it was under warranty. The one year just passed at the end of November. When I was out the phone got hot so I turned it off. When I got home, it would not turn back on so I removed my case and could see something was wrong. The back cover had some welts. I took off the back cover and the phone had melted the circuits in three separate places (up top to the side of the camera lense and on both sides). ATT directed me to LG and for 3 months I have dealt with their customer service. I shipped them the phone twice. The first time they said it could not be repaired, which was obvious from the pictures that I sent them. They then asked me to send it again for a products liability investigation. They told me that they needed to confirm it could not be repaired so that they could replace the phone. Today I was told the investigation is over. They are returning my phone but will not replace it. They could not give me a reason as to why they would not. They claim it's not their responsibility because it's physical damage but cannot tell me what caused it or how this is not the result of a manufacturing defect. I asked to speak to people in charge and have been told that is not possible. I asked to speak to the products liability investigators to find out what was determined and was told that is not possible. I asked to speak to the person that told me it would be replaced and again was told that is not possible. Has anyone had a similar experience or have any advice on how to correct this situation? The real kicker is that because of the new policies at ATT I am paying monthly for a phone that I can't use due to no fault of my own. Beyond frustrated.
