Something that Android does not do.

Because of the prior discussions the answer is and still is no. And again, you move apps when you can as well as place what files you can where you want them.

But the question's answer is simply no. Not a feature of this OS.

I'm guessing you expected more from Android the OS?

Keep in mind that while we can move apps and files ourselves (most of the time), your lead question was "how do i set up my downloads/music/video /apps /documents to go to the external sd card" and the answer is still no, not a setting or feature of the OS.
