LG F100L

Jan 16, 2015 4:56PM PST

Hi everyone, my LG-F100L (some call it OPTIMUS VU) was working fine until a certain morning when I woke up to find it dead. I left it charging overnight (I do that with all my devices). This particular morning the phone still gave me the 6am alarm which I set on it but when I finally got round to waking up, I found it dead.

I thought battery was drained so I charged it for hours with no success. It doesn't even show charging indicator. After some time, it begins to get very warm at the back when plugged into power. Power button does not bring it on. I think the battery is not charging. Please can anyone help me? I have lots of info on this phone.

And no backup? Why not?

A modern smartphone is like a computer and a lot of people have more info on their phone than on their PC. And a phone is more likely to be damaged or lost than a desktop PC. So backing up is even more important for a smartphone than for a PC.

For a PC there are data recovery companies. I wonder if they do smartphones also. Worth a try if that's the only way to get your data back.

Ouch. This means we can't pop the battery for a sometimes works trick. Time to talk about how these are like a PC and we must keep backups.
