Question

LG ENLIGHTEN - Un-Installed something I shouldn't have...

Feb 16, 2014 4:24AM PST

Names gone no longer any names - just phone numbers; on my CONTACTS in my TEXTS and Phone Calls !

Had 'low disc space' warning....Un-installed some items.

Seems that I got rid of the thing that allowed me to associate NAMES with each phone numbers.

Now I have lots of numbers; but no names in my TEXT and CONTACTS list !

Please let me know (in a very simple manner) how I can restore that item, so I can have the ability to name them.

My Call Log is now empty too ! ....Ugggh !

...seems all my PHONE Contacts have disappeared - only the original 5 items that came with the phone remain.

(My texts show the phone numbers - but no names that I named them)

Restore somehow ???

Thank you very, very much !

It's an Android phone.

So there should be instructions about backup and restore that LG published. Be sure to check that first.

Just like your PC, we now backup our phone.

Ouch.

Reading between the lines my bet is that no backup was done. Hopefully a reset will put it back to factory conditions and your contacts were synced with gmail or some "cloud."

=======================================

Seems a bit 'harsh' to undo the stupid thing I did last night.
I think it 'backs' itself up each night (?)
No clue if it goes to a cloud.
Honestly do not know if anything/anywhere was/is synched....
<div>If I try the above - sounds like I'll do more carnage than I've already done...
Uggggh.

Then take time to save what you need to now.

I feel the days of the simple phone are gone as folk store stuff on the phone (without backup.)

-> Did you try a simple power off and on? Just hold the power button until it asks what to do, I select power off then OK that. Then power up and check.

Thanks for that 'easy' try - but no luck.
I can't seem to find anywhere, where anyone - did this stupid 'un-install' that I did.
If there are any other ideas that you may stumble upon - please pop it on here...
I truly appreciate you efforts in helping me fix my idiocity...
Thank you !
