lg 55la965w fuzzy picture when watching SD

Hi all just bought lg 55la965w HD viewing is great but when watching standard tv through VM tivo picture is fuzzy in places
are there any settings i can adjust to to get rid of this problem

"standard TV" means an older video that is being blown up to 55 inches so all it's fuzz and issues will show with great detail. It's a common complaint when folk get big screens.
