Question

LG 4k tv issue

May 14, 2016 7:12PM PDT

i just recently bought a LG 4k tv the model is a 55uf6450. i have owned the tv for less than 2 weeks. the issue i am having is that when im watching something through my PS4 in HDMI 1 which i believe is an HDMI 2.0 port everything will be going good and all of the sudden it will black out. i click the input button on the remote and then picture comes back perfect everything looks great. occasionally that black screen just comes on. the other thing is i watch mlb.tv and some green will flash at the bottom of the screen but this is rare not sure if this is because if the App or the TV. any information would be greatly appreciated.

Tell about the HDMI cable.

I'd try it with a shiny new under 10 buck Amazon Basics HDMI cable.

HDMI cord
May 15, 2016 11:18AM PDT

It's just a regular hdmi cord nothing special it's worked fine on my other tv and been pretty reliable as far as I know I have some other ones so I can switch it out and see what happens I wouldn't think it is the cord

When I make a call on something like this.

I carry shiny new cords and cables. I've lost count of issues like this that cleared up with a cord change. I'm using those under 10 buck Amazon Basics cables.

Since you only have one cord, that's now suspect as you have only one and can't tell what model it is.

Changed

Okay I changed the cord I don't have any Amazon ones but I had a nice radio shack one that I was using for something else so I just switched them and will see how that works you don't think it could be any sort of hardware issue?

Yes I do.

Today, the TV's software is actually part of the TV so that's hardware. We can't change it but the maker can. In some cases where the HDMI HDCP handshake fails you see blink outs, to audio or video just stops.

Since the TV is so new I'd yelp now or just send it back if the maker can't support you.

You are using unknown model cables which is a shame. Radio Shack has been out of business long enough that it may not be a 2.0 cable.

2.0 cable

I thought when hdmi 2.0 came out it was said that you wouldn't need a 2.0 cable and that anyone trying to sell an HDMI 2.0 cable was a scam

Hardware

Also if it could be a hardware problem what could it be

I've shared what I carry on such a call.

And you are right. I still would have liked to read you have the newer 1.4a b or such cable. https://www.google.com/#q=are+hdmi+2.0+cables+different

It appears you have no choice but to return it now. Trying a cable is not an option I take it.

I'm confused

Your last reply is completely confusing the way it was worded is very confusing

Oops. I'll fix that misspelling now.

What I'm writing is that since it's failing to work with what you have and swapping cables is not acceptable, plus the maker support is failing, this must be sent back. Return it since it's not going to work with what you have.
