Question

LG 49UH6100 update

Dec 10, 2016 8:55AM PST

Hello everybody,
I've recently bought LG 49UH6100. In a couple of days the update 04.30.02 came in. Is it any better than 03.20.30? I know sometimes the update reduces the functionality. Isn't it the case?

Answer
Great question for LG.

I see at lg.com a phone number and chat system. Here I find that an out of date firmware can lead to smart TV netflix and app failures. So if you don't use the smart parts, no need to update.

LG 55uh6150 firmware 04.30.70
Dec 10, 2016 8:35PM PST

I have an LG 55uh6150 4k uhd tv smart tv I bought. On black Friday and before the new LG firmware update that happened last week when ever I was watching the Netflix app I could press the info button and in the top left corner it would tell me what resolution I was streaming it doesn't work now but still works for the TV channels and any hdmi slots bring used. But i liked the fact that I could tell if I was streaming 4k on the Netflix app. It happened after the webOs 3.0 update so it's an LG problem. Not a Netflix error iv called both but LG said they call me back in A few days

Just a tip.

Try to avoid subposting in other folk's thread.

There is a big issue with Nefflix. LG doesn't write the app so if an app changes it's not LG's to fix. Some folk meltdown over that issue.

It's like Microsoft Word on a Dell PC. You rarely ask Dell to fix Microsoft Office.

Is there a way to downgrade the firmware? Just in case I decide to install the latest firmware.

All makers so far seem to be one way. Up.
