Question

Lg 47la620v sound control

Feb 17, 2014 1:38AM PST

I have the lg 47la620v tv linked up to it is my old Samsung DVD player with surround sound and when I used the tv remote to turn the sound up or down this would turn the samsung sound up and down. When I used the tv remote to turn the tv on and off this would also turn the samsung on and off which was great.

Now for some reason and I can't work out why but this is no longer linked together,I have tried all sorts with no joy,if I want the sound up or down I have to use the DVD remote instead of the tv remote.Anyone advise how I can get this back again as it's doing my head in now just can't work out what's gone wrong

Answer
That sounds like some control system.

Not all HDMI ports on TVs have those network control lines. I'm going to shortchange you on how it all works but it only works on one port on most TVs.

Try another cable just in case. There are those firmware updates that the makers send out. LG has some problems they may be silently updating. They are in the news so I won't duplicate that here. Is the TV on the internet?
