LG 42" PJ550 Plasma TV

Hi - i have the LG 42PJ550 Plasma screen. Getting very lovely pictures on it even in SD from sky digibox but when there is a full screen of white in an advert or TV program the white is not a pure brilliant white its sort of gray'ish however when its white text the text is perfectly brilliant white. i can only see an adjustment in the menu for black level and nothing for white level. Its almost like when there is a lot of white on the plasma screen it darkens it, I wonder if it does this to avoid burn-in maybe I cant thing of anything else, the brightness and contrast is set up perfectly on the TV set.
