Resolved Question

LG 32LS570S HDD recording

Apr 3, 2013 2:47AM PDT

Is it possible to record to external USB HDD from the satellite input on LG 32LS570S? When I try to start recording from any other input I have available (antenna, HDMI, AV), the TV says 'Recording from this input not possible'.

I'm going with no.

The reason why has been discussed so I'll shorten it to "we didn't get permission and agreements from them to offer this."

Workaround? Try some sat receiver to the HDMI port.

And let's make it clear that TVs with built in recording are upsetting some owners as the content just vanishes without notice as well as being locked to the TV.

Thanks for the info (even if it's not what I was hoping for). Content being locked to the TV wouldn't bother me, I didn't plan to rip the shows or watch them on PC anyway. Content vanishing without notice would not be nice but since it's not possible to record, it's a no-issue too.

Workaround with a sat receiver (with enabled recording) to HDMI port might work but I was looking forward to operate the TV without another box and remote.

Now that I re-read the specs, I see it says 'recording of DVB-T', so it's my bad for not paying attention.

You are doing better than I did.
