LEXPPS.EXE. In a word no.

your printer is a piece of hardware and as such it is unlikely that someone could plant a Trojan or parasite in it.
it is shown as 'listening' probably because it is part of your start up sequence.
to disable this and use your printer only when you need to, [by pressing the power button], please go to start> msconfig> start up and uncheck it from there.
then you will not see it 'listening' not that it is of any consequence.

Do you have an icon in your system tray for Lexmark printer? If yes, try to find in it's options if there's an option to NOT to load the application on Windows Startup. If none, try unchecking both then test if you can still print.

I agree with David. Follow Davids' advise to uncheck LEXPPS.EXE in Startup tab of MSCONFIG. You are not in a network that needs sharing of printer.. right?

Thanks David and Donna..Was able to take printer out of startup, but then Printer wouldnt print,so decided to call Lexmark for their suggestion and was told to unplug printer from surge protector and plug in a wall outlet..I did and it works now and is out of startup also..Thought this may help someone else, and try to always post back and let you know if things work..By the way,the tech support at Lexmark was Excellent and only waited about 5 minutes to talk to him..Thanks again for the help. This place sure is a College of Knowledge..I really learn a lot from all of you..

I don't think it's a trouble. If a listening socket has 0.0.0.0 as the foreign IP.

Go to command prompt then type "netstat -a" (no quotes) to find out if they are listening to 0.0.0.0
