Question

Lexmark x5470 printing problem

Dec 30, 2011 7:28AM PST

I have an Imac 10.6.8. I have installed Windows 7 and i am having a printer problem. My Lexmark x5470 works fine using pages, numbers, etc. When I open up Microsoft Word and try to print I get a message that there is a communication error. I then unplug the usb cable and plug it back in and the printer will work. When I switch back to Pages, I have the same problem until I unplug the usb cable and plug it back in. This is very awkward. Is there a solution for this?

Normally in Parallels

the Virtual Machine shares the Host machines equipment, including printers.
However, the symptoms indicate that when you switch from Mac to Parallels, and back again, the USB connection to the printer is lost. The only way to re-establish the connection is to remove the cable and put it back again.
