Going to get second printer (Canon ip3000) as a better photo printer and put it on newer, faster computer with the dual-boot Windows/Mandrake 10.2. Supposed to be able to use bji drivers to operate printer in limited capacity. That's where I am now. Just boot to Windows for
highest quality scannning and printing. chuck
I have been using Mandrake 10.0 on a dual-boot for quite a while. Keep it up to date, so it works fine. My problem is: I can't change to a newer distro. I've tried Mandrake 10.1, 10.2beta 3, Fedora Core 3, Knoppix 3.6 and 3.7. They all have the same feature that stops me. The work-around supplied by Lexmark for my printer (Z515-also Z615) need to substitute the TCL and TK files. It uses TCL and TK 8.3.5-88 instead of the native 8.4 series. Mandrake 10.0 will let you replace, the other distros give a message "You have a later version of these files already" and exits. While beyond newbie status(I like to think), finding a way to force these files is beyond me. Any ideas I can explore will be greatly appreciated, since Mandrake is already moving to newer distros. chuck
