Lexmark poor printing quality

Jan 20, 2005 1:44PM PST

My Lexmark X83 is quite suddenly producing extremely poor black and white copy (lines fading, cross hatched, etc) Test page is the same (color part seem OK). I tried the "cleaning nozzles" operation a few times and it, too, shows the black bands hatched and fading. Result is same with brand new cartridge. I also tried "whicking" the nozzles with a wet folded damp towel. Contact points on the back of the cartridges are clean. Also tried disconnecting and reconnecting UBS and power cables, and rebooting my PC. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas about what may have gone wrong? I'm desperate! Thansk for any help in troubleshooting! Renald
