Lexmark E250d Has Problem Printing Plain-Text E-Mail

Here is a very weird one...

I am a techie for a large city agency. User has a local Laxmark E250d printer, complaining about light printouts on body text of Outlook e-mail, she changed toner, no dice. Running XP, newest Lexmark universal driver, does not work with older driver either.

I looked at it extensively.

I can recreate problem on my e-mail account. I get normal printouts on text formatted as HTML as most of my e-mails are. But when i try to print a plain text e-mail, you can barely see body text.

I am perplexed. Happens only on this printer, printing to networked T420 does not have this issue.

Will the printer work if attached to another computer?
Will the printer work if running under another OS- not Windows- on the same computer?

I changed the font used in plain text for Outlook and made it work.
