If there was "no contact" it could have depended on who was in the tub first, If he "joined "her, and tried to seduce her with words, I can see how that could have "ruined her life and family. There was no information re: where or whose hot tub it was, nor if her age was known.

Another theory could be that he pontificated a lot about "family values" and morality as some with a past have done, and she found it too hypocritical.

Regardless, I think that "smart" is a better adjective than "courageous" to describe his coming clean.

When she decided to speak the truth did she tell the whole truth to the media or did she leave out the part of her accepting a bribe? Having been outed for one discretion it seems Mr. Carn freely admitted his bad judgment in having bribed her as well.
