Let me throw another one into the help mix

What can anyone tell me about JVC's D-ila technology verses DLP, LCD, etc? Doing a stare and compare at the stores, to my eye, I like this pic best, except for plasma which I can't afford. Any suggestions????

Go with what your eyes tell you is the most pleasing to look at. After all, you're the one watching the set day in, day out.

Just make sure that you're evaluating your choices on an even playing field. Sometimes, in stores, different sets will be tweaked to different levels of performance. This may or may not be due to the store staff's level of expertise. A good way to test this is to bring a DVD to the store with you and play the same scene on several different sets to have a more accurate frame of reference. Its tough to tell what you're getting in a store since the staff might not know what they are doing when they tweak the TVs. But in the end, go with what you like best.

The JVC's are great sets, very popular amoungst custom install companies. Keep in mind, any TV you choose may look wonderful on display, and that should give you an idea of what the set is capable of, but if your cable or other source input is only "OK" then thats what you will see, a bad picture will still be a bad picture no matter what Tv you buy. As we progress to more and more High Def channels, this shouldn't be as much of an issue soon.
