Hi Everyone,

if anyone is aware when the new Leopard OS will be launched together
with the Macbook ranges ?

Any advise ? Happy
Thanks a million.

If you could wait...
Nov 21, 2006 9:16PM PST

Then you would be able to get Leopard free plus iLife 07 free plus maybe Apple would have fixed the problem that some Macbooks have(random start up and shut downs).
Leopard is set to be released in Spring 2007.
Maybe the processors will be upgraded.
I would wait you know...

Hey there,
Thanks for the information guys Happy
Yes you are right....buying at the end of the holiday season would be an unwisechoice ..seeing how it would probably be upgraded with the latest hardware/OS/software just around the corner.

Thanks alot for the advise.

As already mentioned,
Nov 21, 2006 9:47PM PST

OS 10.5 (Leopard) is due for release during the first quarter of 2007.
Usually the new OS ships on new machines on the day the release is announced.
Apple do not usually announce the exact release date of a new OS, or machine, before the day that it is available.
iLife 07 will also probably be announced early in 2007 and possible both announcements will be made at MacWorld San Francisco 07 which will be on Jan 8th to the 12th.

Playing the waiting game with Apple is never to be encouraged because, as I already mentioned, there are usually no prior announcements. Look what has already happened to the MacBook and MacBook Pro lines without any prior fanfare.

???

I dont understand what you said. Are you trying to ask me if it seems to take a long time before you get a new computer once you expect one? Or are you asking me if the wait is going to be short(1-2 months) or long (3-4) months?
I dont mean any thing offensive in what I said but I am just asking what you were trying to ask me.

Even though where you live only has 2 seasons, it makes no difference to when Leopard will be released.

I told you that it would be released in the first quarter of '07. I never mentioned Spring.

Just as a matter of interest, just how was anyone supposed to know where you lived?

Should wait
Nov 25, 2006 3:46PM PST

You should wait for Leopard to come out first half of next year along with the (rumor) 15" Macbook by Foxconn (they make iPhone too).

Thanks.

I think its better to wait. Since there are more new tech to come on 2007

15" MacBook
Nov 27, 2006 10:43PM PST

Hi, Yes i heard that as well. However, there are also some
preampted discussions that they might just replace the Macbook 13"
line of products with the new 15" Macbook, but retaining the
same price value ...

Well we would just have to wait and see. I would much rather they
retain the compact 13" Macbook for those who prefer smaller, mobile option.... but then again that would be my personal view Happy
