All of the Canon autofocus EOS lenses will work with the XT.
If it is a Sigma, Tamron, Tokina or any other brand of lens - it is a mixed bag. Some will work, some will not. You will have to contact the lens manufacturer to get their input. Canon will not help you with such information on those lenses.
Just remember...the focal length of the lens will appear different to the digital Rebel, due to the smaller size of the Rebel sensor.
There is a 1.6 multiplier to determine equivalent 35mm focal length. i.e. - the 50mm lens will have the 35mm equivalent of 80mm when used on the digital Rebel.

You can find the XT body. It will only be about $100 cheaper than the kit.
Here is one site with both the silver and black body:

I am considering the digital Rebel XT and have been using the analog Rebel EOS for several years. Can some one tell me if the lens systems are interchangeable across the EOS and the XT in which case I need to buy only the XT body?
Also, where would I look for the XT body only - I dont find it on CNET or am I wrong?
