Lenovo Thinkpad T60 Error Messages At Boot Up.

by bt321 / April 12, 2008 1:25 AM PDT

Hey, I have started getting two error messages when I boot up my Lenovo Thinkpad T60. They appear everytime I boot up the notebook, regardless if it has been in hibernation or not. The first one reads:

Initializing Intel (R) Boot Agent GE v1.2.50
PXE-E05: The LAN adaptor's configuration is corrupted or has not been initialized. The Boot Agent cannot continue.

This comes up for about five seconds. Does it have anything to do with the ethernet drivers? I have tried reinstalling them, but the same error messages still comes up. The notebook still can however join a LAN.

After the previous message, the following one comes up:

Expansion ROM not initialized - PCI on Motherboard
Bus:00, Device:00, Function:00

Press ESC to continue

Then if I press escape, the computer boots up seemingly normally.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

The EEPROM of the Ethernet ship need a factory reconfiguration (reset). To make this, I made a bootable CD-ROM, to simplify the procedure, based on a solution found in the forum...

? Download PROBOOT.EXE from Intel. Get the first one from the list - the one without Network adapter, it says only "Intel

Dear Sir,

I have the same problem with a Thinkpad T60 error message at boot up that you dealt
with on April 12, 2008 @

I have been unable to find the CD-ROM boot-disk that you mentioned in your
CDProBOOT-0.2.iso - FreeDOS boot cd-rom

Would you kindly provide me with a link in order for me to optain that iso.

Thanking you in advance for your kind attention.

Intel files not valid.
by mroulier / February 23, 2011 2:32 AM PST

I pulled the most recent Intel version (16.0)and IBAUTIL.exe is not contained in the folders.
And the Freedos website says at the top, "If you already have another operating system on your computer, it may be overwritten during the installation process. If this is not what you intend, stop now."
Not exactly what I wish to do.
And I'm on WinXP not Linux, so the instructions listed above don't help.

Is there an ISO with these files somewhere?

In reply to: Intel files not valid.

Sorry but I have to write that some things are going to be advanced. While I know to not install freedos to the HDD others may try to do that rather than run freedos from the CD.

Sorry but not everyone can do this. Arrange for repair at a shop near you.
