Then for Windows 10 I boot up the W10 install and repair USB stick (it's free and easy to make with (google this) Microsoft Media Creation Kit.) Once I boot that stick I select the repair and try the reset option and save my files. It that fails I wipe the drive and do a clean install (which is on the web so I pause here.)
My laptop turned off the other day and at first I thought it was because it had died, so I put it on the charger. I came back and went to turn it on and instead of turning on normally it took me to a blue screen asking to choose my keyboard layout after doing that I was then sent to a blue screen with two option the first was troubleshoot and the second was turn off your computer. after clicking on the troubleshoot option it gave me six options System Restore, go back to the previous version, system image recovery, startup repair, command prompt, and uefi firmware settings. I have tried everything I can think of to get my computer to boot up normally, I have tried system restore, go back to the previous version, system image recovery, and startup repair but every time the computer says it couldn't do the task. I have used the Novo button to try and get it to boot into safe mood didn't work. I have tried restoring the system and resetting the system with command prompt still nothing. I have tried changing the boot mode in the uefi firmware settings, but it shows me that I only have one boot up option. I am at a loss I have no idea what to do. Any help would be appreciated. Worth noting that I can access notepad through command prompt and look at the files on the computer and all my files are still there.
