Big issue with that.

Some of our office folk use a MacBook to write iPhone apps. Your review didn't cover how we could get MacOS onto this laptop. And Apple doesn't allow that. So how would we get our iPhone developers on this MacBook killer? It appears you need to update that title.

macOS

Hey,
Well if you absolutely must use MacOS then maybe apple is the way to go. I'm not comparing OS, just showing a laptop that can generally perform as well or better than a macbook for a lower price. Not sure on running MacOS on any computer other than apple pc's but I know there are tutorials on how to do it.
Cheers !

So it's not a MacBook killer.

Glad we cleared that up. We have a lot of laptops in our office and home and I keep hearing and reading MacBook killer and not one has been able to stand in for the job.

not for your particular case

Again. Yours is a VERY specific situation. If you're developing for apple, makes sense to use apple. If you need or love MacOS then it makes no sense to go for a windows pc and having to struggle to install macOS. That being said its not that unreasonable to compare 2 laptops with different OS.

That's the thing.

On the MacBook we can boot Mac OS to do the work, and then Linux or Windows if need be. To be a MacBook Killer, my view is it really has to be able to do all that the MacBook can do.

That said, the personal computer days are getting shaky as more folk move to smart phones.

It's taken a year to find good homes for our old desktops. Yes there were folk that would take them but after finding most folk break them up for parts or ebay them we got a lot more picky.

Hard not impossible

But thats just it, you can manage to get MacOS on a non apple PC. Cant tell you how, but a quick google search showed me a few tutorials. I'm sure youtube probably has a few good ones as well.

As we must walk the straight and narrow.

Developers tend to not try the hackintosh route. No one wants to get booted out of the Apple eco-system.
