Resolved Question

Lenovo B540 / Windows 8 / Epson BX635FWD print problems

Jul 8, 2013 7:09AM PDT

Can anybody help?
I have an Epson BX635FWD printer that has and does work perfectly with Windows XP. I have recently purchased a Lenovo B540 with Windows 8 and it loaded the print drivers immediately. I thought how easy it was but have since found that it will not print a multi page document in full, but will suddenly stop halfway through a page. I made do by printing a couple of pages at a time, but then tried to print a 10 x 15 cm photo and it would only print 1/3 before stopping and spitting the paper out. The number of pages it prints correctly before giving an error message and ejecting the paper is inconsistent.
I have reloaded driver 1.32 (for Windows Cool from the Epson site twice and I have also gone back to the disc supplied with the printer and reloaded the driver from there. The problem remains. Does anybody have any ideas?

I'm afraid it had the same problem when I try to print PDFs so that does not help. The error message flashes very quickly on screen and disappears before I can read it properly but there does not look to be an error number. Is there somewhere I can look to find the error message that relates to the failed print? I will report the problem to Epson but I thought there may be a quicker fix or that I was doing something wrong.

Thank you anyway.

As presented and with what's been told

Nothing stands out.

You could try another user account but details do matter. For example you could reveal "I used registry cleaner Glaryner." to which we would tell you long stories.

PS. Other places to get error details.

Try the Event Viewer. I can't guess if your drives are full but one client thought 100 MegaByte free should be plenty. At one time long ago, sure. Not today.

We had 3 different "printers" available in control panel all referring to the same Epson printer. We have now found that while 1 of these choices does not work, the other 2 do, so we have just changed our default to one that works.

Cheat.

Go get DoPDF or such and print it to some PDF then print the PDF. This would make an end run around the printer driver bugs.

And if you don't report this to Epson, you can't expect them to know or fix them.

-> I read your post twice and can't find the "ERROR MESSAGE."
