Resolved Question

Legal Matter re Unsent Email

Nov 29, 2011 11:03AM PST

Hi,

I'm involved in a legal matter whereby I need to provide written (email) proof of stated facts.

I composed an email (Outlook 2003) but didn't send it. I then composed a copy but edited out one line and sent it. However, the unsent email with the unedited line contains the proof needed.

This email has the words "This message has not been sent". However, in Properties there's no record of when it was created (I assume because it wasn't sent).

Is there some way I can verify that this email was composed at around the same time as the one sent? Is the date it was composed hidden somewhere?

Your help will be much appreciated.

No. Any good computer "expert" would rip that to shreds.

As I can change the time on the PC I can create such with any date/time I wanted.

I suggest you get some legal counsel that deals with such matters.

seek and take the advice of a lawyer.

It wouldn't even take an expert to TOUCH the ability to alter file creation times.
