Lee -- Why no dates in CNET search results any more?

Sep 30, 2007 5:17AM PDT

I'm positive they used to be there! Their absence makes it much more difficult to see if someone else has already posted on a particular topic. And while we're at it, Boolean capabilities would be greatly appreciated, too (just about every search engine in the world beside ours has that feature...)

Thanks -- grumbling Dave K.

CNET site or forums?

If it's the forums search we haven't changed it since launch. The forum search does have creation date... so I'm a bit confused.

It's the forum search, and it has changed....

but it actually is there (I now see...) -- it's just moved from the bottom of the entry, where it used to be, over to the right (where I don't see it on my 800x600 display). However, I am suggesting that the search should be upgraded to allow Boolean "and" searches, at least in "Advanced." Without that feature it's usually almost impossible to search and find a previously posted message on a given topic, unless you know in advance a rare word that's in the post.

Have a great weekend! -- Dave K.
