General discussion

Lee, the profiles are DOA...

Jul 18, 2007 11:38AM PDT

The member profiles have just developed amnesia. Sad

We are effectively all newbies with zero posts and all formatting, including italics, underline, bold, and even line returns, has been stripped away. Forum search is still working, but something's gone awry.

I checked my profile and I was shocked to see everything has been stripped down. Everything. Even my avatar has disappeared and all my post count have gone back to zero, even my 'featured member' badge has disappeared, quite weird actually. Whats going on???????

Interesting...

Featured Member badges are missing but Moderator badges remain. One would think they would be controlled by the system, and thus fail together.

As to the avatars, very interesting. I changed mine three weeks ago, linking to an off-site image, but now it's reverted back to the standard Cnet-hosted mobile phone image I used previously. I assume you're was hosted elsewhere as well?

Actually.....
Jul 18, 2007 8:16PM PDT

No actually it was a standard avatar supplied by CNET, out of their avatar gallery, I find that strange that even THEIR avatars have disappeared off member pages. Sorry to say, but I think that CNET may be running unreliable software or something.

Did anyone read their Bio?

Mine went back to my old OS, the xt919

I have updated it to XP.

Isn't it great to have 0 posts again!

Even Bob has 0 posts. Now's the time to catch up to him.

I was proud of my avatar. It looked just like me.

I agree with Rick though, I'm now on level terms with Bob, Happy

Looks like they lost a server or something. It's after 9:00am in SF now, though, so it's time for the frustration to spread. Devil

To whoever restored the system's memory, thanks Doc! Now, if you'll just send the bill to the member with the most posts we'll be all set. Devil

I see yours and mine, while logged in and while logged out. Have you tried deleting the temp files, starting a new browser session, or loading another browser?

Oh yeah, now I see them. But when I logged in there was a blank image. Happy
