LED Screen Cleaning

Oct 11, 2009 6:28AM PDT

Hey Guys!

I found a lot of threads on how to clean a Plasma and LCD screen, but nothing specifically on the LED. Im also disappointed that i couldnt find anything in my manual about it. (if its there, i couldnt find it) I did NOT clean it with windex....but the edges (not the screen) have thin scratches all around the perimeter. Thats disappointing as well. Im REALLY afraid to touch the screen at all. i use a microfiber to wipe ONE finger print off the screen, and it didn't move...it just smeared.

Thoughts?

Monicab1979,

I definitely recommend *against* using Windex or any alcohol based cleaner. Windex works great on windows, but this is not a good choice for LCDs.

A microfiber and LCD cleaner should do the trick, and these can be found at most electronics stores - and many come with a microfiber that I would dedicate *only* for the television.

aahochman,

I've used Monster, RCA brand and Clean Dr. LCD screen cleaners, specifically. They seem to be pretty comparable in results. Officially, I can't make a recommendation of one over the other.
