Learning to Make My PC run Faster

hello : my computer has been running slow lately and I
Just had it formated and it did'nt changed any thing.
I have a Athalon AMS1800+(tm)with C:/ and B:/ both are
Maxtor 7200rpm , what can I do th correct this problem

FatherBob,
If your reformated drives were protected from virus and spy-ware memory may be your problem.

Windows XP needs 256MB of memory to run.
WIndows 98 & ME can get by with 128MB memory.

These amounts are a base line, your use of the computer dictates how much memory you need.

have you try defragmenting your computer...it helps alot...also if you want the best performance for you computer theme style..go to start...right click on my computer and then go to properties...and click on the tab "advanced" and it the first selection should be performance click on the setting to the right...then click on best performance settings..your computer theme might look old but it might just help...
