Learning how to use new DVD-R Drive...need help.

by cmk59 / May 5, 2005 2:32 AM PDT

Hello, all! Trying to burn several files onto the Lite-On DVD/CD combo drive, but I cannot seem to get it to work...I have several issues:

1. Every time I put in a fresh DVD-R, I get an error message to put in a new disk.

2. The Pavilion a720n computer has no "A" drive, so I cannot download and install the firmware upgrade from the HP site. Am still waiting on an answer from HP.

3. I have several file types I'd like to record onto the DVD...some show the Real icon, some show the WMP icon, others show what looks like a 'sine wave' icon. These latter files will play in QuickTime or Real, but not WMP, nor will they record to the gives a message that the files are corrupted and it cannot import them. Any ideas on how to make all my video files recordable? THANKS!!!
