LE40C550 LCD problem

by Janco1996 / September 28, 2010 12:09 AM PDT

Hello everyone,

I'm having a problem with my Samsung LE40C550 LCD tv. I bought it about 1 month ago. The tv always worked perfectly, but now I can't switch it on anymore. I don't know what caused this. When I try to switch the tv on, the red standby dot flashes 6 times. Then it stops for like 10 seconds and then it flashes 6 times again. It only stops when I unplug the tv. Does anyone know what this means? And how to fix it?

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your new TV.

Unfortunately, there's not much I can do in terms of troubleshooting this particular symptom. I'd recommend calling the Samsung customer service center in your region to see if you can get it scheduled for a repair.

It is a very common problem. My Samsung suffered same problem after 2 yrs. It's very easy to fix it. Requires basic soldering and electronical skills. You need to replace several capacitors on your power supply. For detailed instruction how to fix it type on youtube "Samsung TV Repair- PART 1 OF 2". It's going to take up to 30mins to fix it and about $30 for parts. Good luck!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
