LE40B650 problem with menu style after entering Service Menu

by Spatoulas / February 6, 2010 4:06 AM PST

Hi there,

I recently bought the LE40B650 tv. I coudn't view any media (video, music, images) through DLNA, so I decided to check if there is any option in Service Menu. I got into the service menu and didn't changed anything ( I believe that I didn't change anything, I am not quite sure), apart from the panel type (which I changed it accidentally and now I do not remember the right value).

Anyway, the tv seems to be ok, except from the fact that the menu style has changed. The colors are a little bit different and the volume indicator is now vertical while previously had a round style with a small animation. Do you know how to get back to the original menu style?

Regarding the type of my TV in Service Menu, do you know how I can find the right value?
I found a pdf regarding the Service Menu, and concluded on these values:
The only specs I know are 40x1xF0C: 40", 1 for 100/120Hz, F for FullHD, 0 for 1st panel,and C for CCFL back light).
The two digits I missing are the Vendor(A:AMLCD, D:CMO, L:AUO, I:CPT)
and Panel(A:AG, T:TN U:UC)

thanks in advance

Found the menu style option
by Spatoulas / February 6, 2010 6:38 AM PST

Well i finally managed to change the menu style:

In the Service Menu (while on stand-by press INFO-MENU-MUTE-POWER) go to Control->Sub Option and change the UICOLOR from BASIC to BLUE or RED.

In my TV 40B650 the default value was BLUE. I suppose that the RED option is the default vale in 40B651.

I am still wondering what the type of my panel is, and most importantly if a wrong value will affect the hardware. I suppose that the type value activates-deactivates some options in the Menu. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't have the ability to discuss service menu issues.

Those codes are in place for a reason, and I can't advise one way or another.
