LE32B450C4W Buzzing

Aug 5, 2009 8:34PM PDT

Hi,

I got a Samsung LE32B450C4W yesterday and I have noticed every so often a high pitched buzz from the speakers (I think). It mainly happens when people with a low pitched voices talk. The only way I can replicate it on demand is when I turn the TV into standby (as at the end of the Samsung tune it makes the noise). I have had exactly the same issue with my last to LG's (that's why I switched to a Samsung). The TV is just on the stand supplied with it. I have read about turning the backlight up to 10 will fix this issue, is this true or is it just a faulty telly?

Thanks in advance.

R055,

It sounds like you got a faulty telly on the surface, particularly with the melody recreating the noise. But on the other hand, if it happens on two different TVs from two different manufacturers while it's on, it may be the audio settings from your source or bad cables.

Does this happen on all inputs, or just with the cable/sat/co-ax connection?

You shouldn't have to adjust the backlight in order to adjust the audio, that to me doesn't sound like normal operation.

Thanks for the reply.

I have just unplugged everything except the power cable and turned it off and on and it the buzz (maybe a vibration) is still there when turned on and off.

I haven't had time to test it with the DVD player / Xbox as I have only had the TV just over 24hrs, so I can't say if is happens with them, so I have only ever experienced it with Freeview (in the UK.

Re: My 2 LGs, it turned out on both of them that the back panels were badly designed and they were not supported in the correct areas of the rear case.

Well I just tested it with the Xbox 360 (via HDMI) on Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 and the sound became unbearable during gun fights and scenes where the pace picks up. The sound was constant all the way through them. It is even worse if I activate SRS TruSound HD.

R055,

I was hoping we'd get this figured out.

In that case, I recommend an exchange or a repair.
