How is it connected? If the audio continues, it sounds like perhaps maybe the cable/sat box's HDCP (copy protection technology) is causing the picture not to be sent.
You might try swapping out your box, if you have one, to see if that yields better results. The symtoms match, so maybe it's worth a shot.

Purchased TV a few weeks ago. It worked for three hours and then the LCDs quit firing. Sound and other functions were OK, just no picture.
After numerous phone calls with Samsung, Wal Mart and TV repairman I decided to exchange it for a new one. Wal Mart was great and took back the first one, sent a new one and picked up the UPS charges. The new one arrived yesterday and had the exact same problem. The LCDs only fired for three seconds this time. Sansung has set up a new repair appointment with a new repairman, the first guy stopped dealing with Samsung. Anybody else having a similar problem?
