Almost apples and oranges. See SONY's site; SonyStyle.com. There are many features lacking on the "S" series. Good shopping.

Sony 40 inch LCD TV

I can't give you anymore info than you probably already have. I am doing the exact same thing. I called Sony and apparently they are the only ones that know anything about the (2) NEW 40 inch models. It appears the both the KLV-40U100M and the KDL-40S2000 do not provide HDTV tuners, which is why they are less expensive plus the 40U100M doesn't have the Wega Gate either. Both these features are unnecessary for me. I guess the new "one chip" is a feature that the KDL-V40XBR1 doesn't have. I have no idea when these new sets will be available in stores and--in my area PC Richards and Best Buy don't know either. Sony just says sometimne in March. If you have any additional information please let me know. SWilson330@aol.com
