LCD setup

Gooday
Just set up my new Samsung LN40A450, hooked it into my new PVR cable box.
I am using component cable, don't have HDMI cable yet. Do I need one?
I sit approx. 10.5 feet from the TV.
There seems to be some fuzziness, what could be causing this?
Also is there a setup guide on getting the most out of your TV?
I have heard of putting some light behind the TV, will this benefit anything?
Thanks much
James

It would probably benefit you best if you hooked your new TV up to HD cable. That should clear up your fuzziness. You didnt mention anything about it, but that could be your problem. We will need to know more information about what all you are hooking up to it to give you a good answer.

I have my HDMI cable on order but on non-HD it's better than the old set. If I use a HD source, it's very clear.

For me the clue is "the source."
