lcd monitor power adaptor replacement

Jul 14, 2006 5:08PM PDT

Hi,

I purchased a used samsung 240t lcd monitor but was not given a power adaptor. Can I buy any generic power adaptor or is it better for me to buy a power adaptor designed for the monitor?

I've searched for an exact replacement online but can't seem to find one. The sticker on the back of the monitor says I need DC 14V 6.0A, and a polarity going from - to +.

I found an article online that said lcd monitors don't need anything more than 3.0A so can I buy an adaptor that is DC 14V 3.0A?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Eugene
