LCD Monitor as Picture frame?

Is there a way I could easily (or atleast relatively so) use an LCD monitor or LCD TV as a picture frame. Since those are ridiculously priced at 150 dollars for seven inches. The cheapest I've ever seen for any reasonable quality is 80-90 when I can pick a 15-19 inch lcd monitor for around 100-125 dollars. Ideally I'd use a flash drive to plug directly into the monitor. I'm tinking a monitor wouldn't do since its basically a display device only with no processing capabilities. As such I've considered an lcd tv, which is still more bang for the buck but I don't know if I'd have to hook a mobile device to it such as pmp, or if I could use flash through an adapter, or what exactly. I'm just looking for suggestions so I can get the most bang for my buck, thanks!

The idea of an picture frame is great but the reality of it is just so-so. My kid gave us one last christmas and it is still in the box. Do you own one? If not then think about it first, hehe.

Ok..to the project at hand; here is what is needed. A monitor having a dvi or hdmi input and a dvd player with similar output. Also it has to have a usb input for flash drive or other such devices. Good luck.

This is exactly what we did with our LCD TV FRAME

We purchased a Sony Bravia from newegg www.newegg.com (fantastic store by the way, super good pricing) and got a small media player there also that works off of flash memory. make sure you get one with HD outputs or you will not get good 16x9. We also picked up a LCD TV Frame from HD ENVY www.hdenvy.com that matches the rest of the room.

We get so many compliments on this setup. We keep the pictures going all the time then when we want to watch tv we just swith the input source on the remote and bam!
