LCD ln40a450 dead after 4 months

Nov 6, 2008 8:55AM PST

My ln40a450 just stopped outputting any video. Audio is fine, and if I switch source I can hear the DVD...but nothing displays at all, menu, volume, etc...nothing shows up on the screen.

Is there a reset sequence I can try?

problem fixed. Go figure...

Apparently leaving it unplugged for 10 minutes resets it..and video is back. Weird problem, anyone heard of this occuring before?

P.S. I'm not a TV noob, know what I'm doing Happy

Had same problem with LN46a750
Nov 8, 2008 8:46PM PST

Just had the same problem with my new 46a750 after 3 months. Called Samsung and they said unplug it. Worked fine 1/2 hour later. A little worried about this problem. They said they have not heard of it before.

Problem
Dec 4, 2008 3:08AM PST

I know how much I hate people that dont update their threads after they find out the problem so here is mine.

The problem was with a loose LVDB cable on the controller board (reading the service invoice). When they brought the TV back to the shop it was working fine, I guess the bumpy ride back fixed it temporarily. All they did was make sure the connector was good and re-secured it with the "lock" mechanism it has.

So in the end nothing wrong with the electronics, just a good ol fashioned loose cable.
