LCD display for office work (NO gaming or movie)

May 8, 2007 11:27AM PDT

Hi,

Could you recommend a good LCD display for office work, mainly text, spreadsheet, programming. That kind of thing. NOT for video and NOT for gaming. Might look TV on it if it could be done but as a bonus I don't care. I want a sharp looking text to look at for hours.

I am considering after reading reviews (which are way too video and games-movies oriented):
Samsung 225BW (or 226BW) DELL 2007WFP, LG L2000C, Viewsonic VX2025WM or, if I can put more money, DELL 2407 WFP.

Another question. Does anybody knows if displays that can rotate between landscape and portrait positions must be shut down, or the computer must be shut down to do so. How does that work in real life? If you have to shut a computer down to rotate the display, it is not a very convenient feature to look for. Thanks for any input.
