I just bought a ViewSonic LCD screen and currently have it hooked up with regular monitor cable. I was wondering since it has a digital out put and so does my graphics card would I see much of a difference and buy a digital cable for it?

I see no reason to buy all digital

and not use it. I am surprized your monitor did not come with a DVI cable. These cost a bit more than regular but I'd get one and decide for myself. You won't see great and wonderful changes just viewing the desktop, however.
