Resolved Question

LC-32SB23U compatibilities

Mar 1, 2017 1:54PM PST

Good day,

Can anyone let me know if an old LCD TV, specifically the LC-32SB23U is compatible with newer smart BluRay players? I can't seem to get the HDMI cable to display the video but do get the sound
Steps I've taken so far... I've updated the TVs firmware, double checked all cables and ports with a non smart BluRay player and everything works. Am I just wasting my time or is there something I'm not doing?

Thanks in advance

Specs look to be fine for a 720p HDTV

This is not uncommon with a few BluRay players that for some odd reason don't detect the 720p HDTV.

Try a factory reset on the player next and be sure it's firmware is current too.

BluRay (current models) are only HDMI so unless you have something from prior to 2010, I'd factory reset the player and try again.

-> Parting idea. I did find one recent immigrant and they were mixing a player from Europe and a TV from USA and that failed.
